Carl C. Schreck is a senior trial associate in the firm’s Deerfield Beach office with more than two decades of experience in insurance defense litigation. His practice is concentrated in commercial motor vehicle and trucking defense, premises liability defense, negligent security, wrongful death, dram shop liability, aquatic accidents, accidental commercial and residential drownings, and slip-and-fall litigation. Mr. Schreck is known for his seasoned judgment, substantial trial experience, and disciplined approach to defending complex and high-exposure claims.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Schreck has represented a wide range of clients, including small business owners, landlords, homeowners, retail grocery stores, liquor establishments, restaurants, hospitality industry clients, and major insurance carriers. His broad experience across industries allows him to bring practical insight and strategic focus to each matter, particularly in cases involving significant liability exposure and challenging factual circumstances. Clients rely on his ability to assess risk carefully, prepare cases thoroughly, and advocate effectively through all stages of litigation.
In addition to his civil defense practice, Mr. Schreck has extensive experience addressing issues related to compliance with the Medicare Secondary Payer Act, an area that often requires careful analysis and attention to detail in the resolution of claims. His practice reflects a strong command of both the substantive and practical considerations that shape successful litigation outcomes.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Schreck served the citizens of Broward County, Florida as an Assistant State Attorney, where he developed substantial courtroom experience and a strong foundation in trial advocacy. To date, he has tried approximately 80 jury trials, a reflection of the depth of his litigation background and his comfort in the courtroom. That experience continues to inform his ability to defend clients with confidence, precision, and strategic judgment.
Mr. Schreck earned his law degree, with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law, where he was recognized as a Book Award recipient in Trial Advocacy. He has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1996.
